One of my earliest memories is of my father taking me to the 1978 movie, Superman, starring Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel. Superman’s first public appearance in the film is saving Lois Lane as she falls from the top of the Daily Planet skyscraper after the helicopter she was in crashed trying to take off from the rooftop of the building. Superman spectacularly catches Lois Lane in midair. “I’ve got you,” he says. “You’ve got me? Who’s got you?” Lois memorably responds, looking down at the steep drop below.
