BARS Program – COVID-19 Response – Remote Monitoring Audit
COVID-19 has changed the way the world conducts business and how we go about our everyday lives, it has presented new and ongoing challenges especially for the aviation industry. The wellbeing of our BARS Program community remains our No.1 priority and is at the heart of our decision making. The BARS Program Office is continuing to work efficiently to support our BARS Member Organizations, Audit Companies and Aircraft Operators in having a functioning BARS Program.
To assist our operators through this time period and enable a BARS Audit to proceed remotely, the BARS Program Office has developed a special purpose Audit, titled, the “MC19 Remote Monitoring Audit (RMA)” to be undertaken by BARS Accredited Auditors. The MC19 Remote Monitoring Audit (RMA) has been introduced to facilitate continuity of Operators’ Registration within the BARS Program. The BARS Program Office has designated a period of extenuating circumstances effective 01 Apr 2020 and has now been extended to 31st Dec 2020 for the COVID-19 crisis and during this period, the MC19 RMA will be applied to Aircraft Operators undergoing a renewal Audit who have a Current Registration Expiry date within quarter four (1st Oct to 31st Dec 2020).
The normal model of BARS Audits will be commenced as soon as the extenuating circumstance are lifted. Note: This may be on a regional basis as travel restrictions are lifted for both Operators and Auditors.
