National Palace Museum and Taipei 101

Monday, November 4, 2019

Join us as we tour the National Palace Museum, dine at the famous Din Tai Fung and take in the sights from Taipei’s tallest tower, Taipei 101.

National Palace Museum
Because of the complicated history between the Kuomintang and the communist party, National Palace Museum (NPM) artifacts were relocated to Taiwan and subsequently became a markedly important part of Taiwan’s culture. A review of the NPM’s history shows that it has inherited China’s national culture spanning thousands of years and shoulders the responsibility of preserving and publicizing Chinese artifacts. Of the said artifacts, the majority was previously owned by the Jehol and Shenyang temporary palaces.

Lunch – Din Tai Fung
Whenever the name Din Tai Fung is mentioned, often the first thing that comes to
mind is the perfect xiaolongbao: fresh and juicy, thin and delicate skin, and complete with 18 folds.

Taipei 101
The main tower features a series of eight segments of eight floors each. In Chinese-speaking cultures
the number eight is associated with abundance, prosperity and good fortune. As you ascend to the
