Webinar | AI & Safety – Let’s Talk About People

OCTOBER 28, 2026 | → Registration NOW OPEN!

Rather than another discussion of what AI might do to people, the webinar will focus on what actually happens in practice. What can aviation learn from early implementations of AI in the industry — and from its use in other safety-critical domains with longer experience with AI?  How does AI affect professional judgement, autonomy, expertise, skills, resilient performance, and the way work is actually done? How should these effects be observed and measured over time?

The discussion will explore how organisations can introduce AI with people rather than to them, while learning continuously, whether it is strengthening human capability and safety – or gradually eroding them.

Panelists:
Nadine Bienefeld | ETH Zurich
Jon Holbrook | NASA
Steven Shorrock | EUROCONTROL

Moderator:
Tzvetomir Blajev | Flight Safety Foundation

Webinar | Learning From All Operations: Moving from theory to practice

NOVEMBER 3, 2026 | → Registration NOW OPEN!

Routine operations offer valuable insights that can improve safety, efficiency, and organizational learning. By engaging frontline workers and understanding how everyday work gets done, organizations can learn from what goes right as well as what goes wrong. This panel will explore how aviation organizations are putting these ideas into practice, overcoming implementation challenges and using practical tools to build a culture of continuous improvement.

Panelists:
Jon Holbrook | Human Factors Discipline Deputy, NASA Engineering and Safety Center, NASA,
Adam Johns | Senior Vice -President, Aviation Operational Risk Consulting, Marsh Risk
Nikhil Mathen | Fleet Captain, Human Factors, IndiGo
Greg Scheidel | Southwest Airlines, Senior Safety Culture Program Manager

Moderator:
Kristy Kiernan, Ph.D., ATP, RPC | Associate Director, Boeing Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety, Associate Professor, College of Aviation, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
