Training is one of the four key components of the BARS Program. Training courses are provided for auditors and operational personnel.

BARS Auditor Training

A course to provide training to experienced aviation auditors on how to conduct a BARS Audit using the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Audit protocol.

Managing Contracted Aviation Risk Training - Onshore & Offshore

This training provides participants with an understanding of how BARS can be used by personnel to help identify potential aviation safety risks in onshore and offshore environments.

Helicopter External Load Operations for Ground Personnel

This course has been developed to provide basic training for any personnel engaged in activities involving helicopter under-slung loads.

Building Personal Resilience Program

Personal resilience is a key skillset to ensure our mental health, this is a program that is discussion based and tailored specifically for the contract aviation sector.

Audit Review Meeting (ARM) 

Communication with our stakeholders is key and every six months, the participating Audit Companies are invited to attend the Audit review Meeting to discuss the operational aspects of the Audit element of the BARS program. The auditors and Audit Companies are the eyes and ears of the Program with their interaction with the Aircraft Operators. The ARM is also the opportunity for the BARS Program Office to provide feedback on new Program initiatives and developments directly to the Audit Companies.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Meeting 

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has been functioning since 2009 developing the concept of the BARS Bow-tie model of the Standard and providing ongoing input to the contents of the Standard. The TAC is made up of the subscribed BARS member Organizations and the BARS Program Office Management. TAC Meetings are held twice a year, once in Australia and once in an international location. The Open session of the TAC invites other BARS Program stakeholders such as the Audit Company representatives and observers to attend and contribute to the ongoing Program development.
