Alexandria, VA, January 28, 2008 — Air Transport World announced today that it has selected Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) to receive the magazine’s Joseph S. Murphy Industry Service Award.
“The award is named for the magazine’s late founder and recognizes the highest level of dedication to the world air transport community, of which no finer example can be found than Flight Safety Foundation’s effort to improve the safety of commercial flight,” said Perry Flint, editorial director and associate publisher of Air Transport World.
“We are honored to receive the 2008 Joseph S. Murphy Industry Service Award,” said William R. Voss, FSF president and CEO. “We are immensely proud of not only the history of the Foundation, but also our plans to continue that tradition of making commercial aviation safer into the future.”
Voss will accept the award on behalf of the Foundation at ATW’s gala industry awards dinner in Singapore on February 18, the day before the Singapore Air Show opens.
