On July 3, 2015, the pilot of an Airbus Helicopters AS350 B3e operated by Air Methods lost control and the helicopter crashed into a parking lot seconds after taking oļ¬ from the Summit Medical Center Heliport in Frisco, Colorado, U.S., killing its pilot and injuring the two flight nurses on board. The subsequent National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation determined that the aircraft had lifted oļ¬ without hydraulic assistance to its tail rotor after the pilot forgot to switch the system back on following a routine, pre-takeoļ¬ hydraulic system test.
