‘Thrown Into the Air’

The flight crew on the Boeing 737 saw the convective cell on their weather radar too late to devise a plan to avoid the storm as they approached Ajaccio, Corsica; as a result, the airplane flew through hail and strong turbulence, seriously injuring two passengers and three flight attendants and causing damage in the cabin and to the radome.
