San Antonio, Texas, April 18, 2012 — Flight Safety Foundation presented the Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award to Hong Kong based Metrojet at the opening session of the 57th annual Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar today.
A major business jet operator in the Asia Pacific region, Metrojet has created a team of six safety specialist dedicated to operational audits, flight data monitoring, airworthiness and engineering, ground operations safety and a confidential reporting system. All are considered keys to effective aviation risk management.
“In recognition of these exemplary safety policies and practices, we are very pleased to be able to present this award to Metrojet,” stated FSF President and CEO William R. Voss. “This is a company that can be held up as an example of how to ‘do safety’ all around the world.”
The Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award was first presented in 1975 and is designed to recognize individuals and companies whose work enhances safety in this segment of the industry.
Metrojet (www.metrojet.com) is a family-owned company based out of Hong Kong that was established in 1995. It is the only fully licensed business jet operator in Hong Kong. Roger Lee, Director of Corporate Safety and Quality, accepted the award on behalf of Metrojet.
