FSF/Boeing Recognize RASG-PA Safety Efforts with Annual Award

by Flight Safety Foundation | October 23, 2012

Santiago, Chile  – The Flight Safety Foundation recognized the achievements of the Regional Aviation Safety Group-Pan America (RASG-PA) Leadership Team today by awarding the group the FSF-Boeing Aviation Safety Lifetime Achievement Award.

The leadership team, consisting of Oscar Derby, Loretta Martin and Alex de Gunten, has led RASG-PA in efforts that have reduced risks in the North American, Central American, Caribbean and South American Regions through harmonization and coordination of efforts.

“It is a tough challenge to bring together key personnel in such a large and diverse region and accomplish as much as RASG-PA has done to advance aviation safety in this hemisphere,” commented William R. Voss, President and CEO of FSF. “The leaders of such an effort need to be recognized for this achievement.”

“We are very pleased to recognize the accomplishments of this leadership team. Through their successful work to bring together such a large and diverse region to address safety issues, they’ve set an example for other regions around the world,” stated Corky Townsend, Director of Aviation Safety, Commercial Airplanes, Boeing.

The FSF-Boeing Aviation Safety Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes and individual or group for it contribution to enhancing aviation safety. The award was established in 2002.
