IASS 2016 Host and Location Announced

by Flight Safety Foundation | November 4, 2015

Miami Beach, FL – November 4, 2015 – The Flight Safety Foundation announced today that the 69th annual International Air Safety Summit will be held in Dubai, UAE and hosted by Emirates Airline.

“Going back to the Middle East is a logical decision on our part due to the rate of growth and the focus on safety we are seeing there,” stated Jon Beatty, FSF president and CEO. “Emirates will be a phenomenal partner for IASS 2016 and plans are already being made to make this one of our best safety summits ever.”

IASS 2016 will be held on November 14-16 in Dubai. The call for papers for the agenda will take place in late 2015.

Founded in 1985, Emirates flies the world’s largest fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus 380s and is recognized for its quality service through various industry rewards.

Capt Henry Donohoe, Emirates’ Senior Vice President for Safety said: “Safety is the cornerstone for all airline operators. At Emirates safety is a core value, and it is at the heart of all our operations. We believe that all stakeholders in the aviation ecosystem can benefit from events like the IASS – which encourages the sharing of information and fosters frank discussions on how the industry can collectively work together to improve on the safety practices that already exist. Emirates is proud to host the IASS 2016 in Dubai, and we look forward to welcoming all delegates to our home and hub next year.”

FSF held IASS 2014 in Abu Dhabi and experienced a large and enthusiastic turnout, including from neighboring regions that aren’t able to host such a large event. The International Air Safety Summit is FSF largest safety event each year. IASS 2015, being held at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami, FL, wraps up later today.
