Alexandria, VA, October 2, 2006 — The start of a new era at the Flight Safety Foundation began today when William R. Voss assumed the positions of President and CEO. Bill joins the Foundation from ICAO and the FAA.
“I’ve been looking forward to getting started at the Flight Safety Foundation since I was notified that the job was mine,” commented Voss. “I’m determined to address aviation safety at every level and to continue the Foundation’s work of spreading the safety message worldwide.”
Voss will meet with the media at a Newsmaker Breakfast on October 11 in Washington, D.C., and discuss both his plans for the Foundation and the ICAO and FAA projects he has led. Later this month, he will attend the FSF Board of Governors meeting, to be held in conjunction with the Foundation’s International Air Safety Seminar in Paris, France.
Former President and CEO Stuart Matthews stepped down at the end of September after 13 years of service to the Foundation.
