Japan Intl. Cooperation Agency to Provide Airport Safety Aid Money to Nepal

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has signed a grant agreement with the government of Nepal to provide up to ¥1.452 billion ($14 million) in aid for aviation safety facilities and other equipment at eight major airports in Nepal, according to a JICA press release. Among the eight airports is Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, which is the country’s only international airport. More details on the grant and what equipment will be procured and installed is available here.
