Santiago, Chile – The Flight Safety Foundation awarded it 2012 Presidential Citation to the Target Zero Team of the Bristow Group at its award ceremony during the opening reception of the 65th annual International Air Safety Seminar.
The Bristow Group created the Target Zero Team to achieve three major safety goals – zero accidents, zero harm to people, zero harm to the environment. It is a data-based methodology for establishing a safety culture in which individual accountability and personal commitment to safe performance area the minimum acceptable standards.
“Company executives recognized the industrywide need to improve safety and chose to share the efforts of the Target Zero Team in order to advance the safety efforts of the entire industry,” said William R. Voss, President and CEO of FSF. “This approach is being replicated across the helicopter industry and driving aviation safety improvements. The decision to share this expertise is the true spirit of aviation safety and deserves to be acknowledged.”
“This Presidential Citation recognizes the Target Zero Team for innovation and generosity that contributes to global aviation safety,” Voss continued.
