Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has upgraded the country’s technical aviation regulations “to ensure a safer, efficient and flexible aviation system,” the authority said in a statement Oct. 13. Accorrding to the QCAA, the modernization of the regulation was accomplished in coordination with industry stakeholders, and that the new regulations apply to aircraft operations, pilot training, licensing and airworthiness. In addition, the QCAA plans to publish new regulations on air traffic managements, drones and aerodromes in the coming months. The country hopes to have a complete set of new regulations in place by 2017.
