Represents FSF and Its Support for Aviation Safety
Abu Dhabi, UAE, February 18, 2009 — Former Federal Aviation Administration official Nick Sabatini represented the Flight Safety Foundation at the World Food Program’s 1st Aviation Safety Conference for Humanitarian Air Operations, where he gave a speech today in support of their efforts.
“Nick Sabatini is one of the most respected people in the world of aviation, and we are so pleased that he was able to represent the Foundation at the WFP’s Aviation Safety Conference,” commented William R. Voss, President and CEO of FSF. “I’m impressed with the work that the WFP is doing in order to address aviation safety concerns. Their lifesaving work to spread aid to those who are neediest must be supported by the safest aviation system possible. We will do everything we can to help them.” In his speech, Mr. Sabatini commented on the efforts of the World Food Program to implement its own safety management system. “I must applaud the work of Cesar Arroyo here,” he said. “His actions in implementing the Continuous Monitoring Approach will pay dividends in making aviation safer.”
The Flight Safety Foundation is committed to spreading aviation safety information as widely as possible at no cost to the recipient. “When we were invited to participate in this conference, I jumped at the chance to be involved in such an important effort,” noted Voss. “The WFP is helping people at the most desperate times of their lives in some of the most difficult conditions imaginable. I hope that this conference will bring attention to the impressive work they are already doing to address aviation safety. The Foundation could not be represented better than by Nick.”
