Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid

The latest Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid, Revision 2, and its companion, “High Altitude Operations: Supplement #1” to the Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid, together present high altitude aerodynamics and safe flight techniques for almost all jet airplanes that routinely operate in the high altitude environment above Flight Level 250 (approximately 25,000 ft). The supplement covers safety issues associated with normal operations, unintentional slowdowns and recoveries in this environment. Airbus, Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Flight Safety Foundation led the working group that developed these resources, which are available for download as free documents via the following links:

Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid, Revision 2 (November 2008) [443 pages, PDF 25.8M]

The supplement as a separate document can be downloaded using the following link:

High Altitude Operations: Supplement #1 to the Airplane Upset Recovery Training Aid [14 pages, PDF 1.3M]
