Alexandria, December 21, 2011 — Statement from William R. Voss, President and CEO, Flight Safety Foundation
“The Flight Safety Foundation applauds the new Federal Aviation Administration rules governing pilot fatigue as an enormous step forward in safety management. It is a win-win for pilots and management. The old rules were dangerously outdated and had no basis in the scientific understanding of fatigue. The new fatigue rules are a good first step in the effort to better use scientific study and technological advance to further enhance aviation safety.”
