Measuring Runway Slipperiness

The NTSB says the FAA should change methods used to assess conditions on wet runways.

Citing its investigations of 11 runway overruns, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is calling for changes in methods of assessing runway conditions during periods of heavy rainfall; the current method increases chances that an airplane will overrun the runway, the board said.
