‘Solid’ Safety Performance

IATA data show small improvements in 2025 when compared with data from 2024 but not when compared with the five-year average for 2021–2025.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recorded 51 airline accidents in 2025 and an overall                accident rate of 1.32 per million flights — numbers that showed small improvements over those of the previous year but were slightly higher than the five-year average for 2021–2025.
